As a leading engagement platform for the Energy sector, OGV Energy will be hosting a job fair dedicated to the Energy Sector, that will showcase the very best opportunities available to the workforce in the UK.

Overview
OGV Energy are delighted to be hosting our first Jobs fair for the Energy Sector at the Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel Aberdeen on Tuesday 17th of March 2020.

The Energy sector is evolving and the skills landscape is changing as new technologies are being harnessed to help the sector lower cost, improve safety and security, streamline efficiency and become more environmentally sustainable.

The Oil and Gas sector is working hard to deliver a new mandate as it seeks to deliver the key tenets of "Roadmap 2035", which includes a more flexible, multi-skilled and technology-enabled workforce. It is also looking at new markets such as Hydrogen and other alternative energy sources to diversify its portfolio.

The Renewables sector is benefitting from a renewed onus on a sustainable future and it is seeing new entrants and investment and for the first time we are now seeing Offshore Wind projects starting to compete in size and scale with the Oil and Gas projects.

Stacy Edghill worked for a number of years in the recruitment industry. Following redundancy she used LinkedIn successfully to find work, her methods leading her to receive multiple offers. Recognising the importance of the platform she spent time studying it and learning what works best and now utilises her skills to assist candidates to do the same. Her aim is to get you seen, noticed and (ultimately) chosen. Following her methods will help lead you one step closer to your dream job.

Over 30 years’ experience in recruitment and selection, outplacement, training delivery and organisational development, 20+ years has been at Managing Director level. Currently member of an Advisory Board for the University of Aberdeen Master of Arts programme and Chair of West End Football Club. Held several other Board level appointments including 20 years as Managing Director of The Urquhart Partnership, an HR Consultancy business. Also held positions as a Trustee of VSA, Vice Chair of CLAN, Non-xecutive Director of London Based software company GatherContent and Advisory Board Member for Geomec, a Norwegian Based Geoscience company. Has the ability to combines commercial business experience with the ability to think creatively and provide innovative, practical solutions to clients’ people challenges.
Sophie Guy-Pearson

Presentation: Overview and Update on Roadmap 2035

Sophie joined Oil & Gas UK in 2016 and is now Lead Business Adviser in their Aberdeen office, working as part of the Market Intelligence team. Sophie project manages Roadmap 2035, a key industry project which looks at securing a sustainable future for the basin which is in line with government’s net-zero ambitions. She also co-authors some of Oil & Gas UK’s flagship reports, such as the Business Outlook and Economic Report. Sophie holds a degree in Geology from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen.

Presentation: The Skills Landscape report 2019 - 2025

Paul is a senior industry leader and executive with over 30 years’ experience in the global energy sector. He has worked in a wide range of companies, including Shell, Marathon Oil, Amoco, BP, Venture Production and Centrica. He is currently the Director of Robert Gordon University’s Energy Transition Institute, a Professor at Robert Gordon University, Chair of the Oil and Gas Innovation Centre, Chair of PlanSea Solutions, Chair of eCERTO, a Board member of the Oil and Gas Technology Centre and a member of the Opportunity North East (ONE) Energy Board. Paul is an experienced non-executive director, with over 20 years’ of involvement in public, private and voluntary sector organisations. Paul is also a regular contributor to industry events and a commentator on issues and developments in the international energy sector.

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is Scotland’s national skills body. Jennifer is the Sector Development & Skills Planning Manager for O&G. She is working with partners nationally to ensure employers have access to the right skills, at the right time, in high performing, fair and equal workplaces, and that every individual has the skills and confidence to get a job and progress in the workplace, to achieve their full potential.
