Join the OGV Community and take part in our second monthly forum in October discussing the theme: Decommissioning

OGV Energy are launching a new monthly online forum for the members of our "OGV Community" around the monthly theme for our magazine, which we hope will add additional value to the contributors of the publication and our community members by bringing the content to life with interactive discussions from business leaders within our membership and the wider Energy sector.

Our second online membership forum will be on October 22nd at 2pm and will be chaired by Douglas Mundie - Deputy Chair of the Scottish Funding Council

We will be discussing various themes around "Decommissioning" and will host members of the "OGV Community" as part of the panel that will communicate their views on this topic, alongside influential members of the Decommissioning sector.

Become part of the "OGV Community" and become part of the Energy conversation! Chair

Managing Director, Assured Process Management Ltd

Douglas Mundie runs his own consultancy, working with a number of Scottish SMEs and larger companies, developing their growth through new markets and through innovation. Douglas is Managing Director of Assured Process Management Ltd, a company with experience in structuring and cost effectively managing the decommissioning process for Oil & Gas assets as well as being a Non-Executive Director of the Scottish Funding Council since and their Deputy Chair.

Douglas is also a director of CuanTec Ltd, a company developing a biological extraction process for chitin and chitosan from waste crustacean shells, which will in time offer a compostable thin film for fish packing as an alternative to the plastic packaging films, their aim being to reduce the plastic pollution of the oceans. He was also appointed a Trustee of the St Andrews Harbour Trust in May 2018, a historic ancient harbour supporting local fisheries.

Previously, he spent 25 years in manufacturing, then in 2000 he became CEO of Technology Ventures Scotland to look at how Scottish businesses could benefit from closer interaction with academic knowledge. His interest in growing companies developed, and in 2006 he set up a marine environmental consultancy business globally on behalf of the University of St Andrews: SMRU Ltd. (later SOI Group Ltd.) which uses expertise in underwater noise to minimise those impacts on sea mammals. Today it operates profitably in North & South America and in Hong Kong.

Interim Managing Director, Decom North Sea

As interim Managing Director of Decom North Sea, Will brings over 30 years’ industry experience to the role, 20 of which have been dedicated to offshore market-led intelligence and strategic planning.

From 2009 - 2020, he held the position of Vice President & Group Analyst for subsea specialist, Acteon Group, gaining a global reputation for the delivery of strategic growth, structural change and commercial development.

A contributor to the original Decom North Sea business plan, he has been involved with the organisation since its inception in 2010. In addition to a three-year tenure as Board Director, he has collaborated closely with DNS’ key strategic partners, having worked with the Oil & Gas Authority on the industry sector development deal, and as advisor to both the OGUK annual Decommissioning Report and the Oil and Gas Technology Centre’s Decommissioning Solution Centre.
