The agreement will create a partnership that can provide a broad range of equipment and services to support reliability and operational safety in the energy, industrial and renewable industries.
As part of the collaboration, JST will have exclusive rights to supply Sparrows Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and components in Thailand. This includes all crane brands that Sparrows hold intellectual property rights (IPR) for such as American Aero, Houston System, Bucyrus Erie Marine, Weatherford and Energy Cranes.
As well as supplying parts and components, JST’s infrastructure in the Kingdom will enable Sparrows to provide crane management and operations and maintenance; inspection, testing and certification; design and engineering support; and equipment rental.
Stewart Mitchell, chief executive office of Sparrows said: “There are over 100 cranes in operation across Thailand today which we hold the IPR for and this agreement ensures that our customers know they can purchase genuine OEM parts with a certified warranty from a supplier they can trust.
“With more than 40 years’ experience, JST is a well-respected and established brand in Thailand and partnering with them enables us to assure quality and safety to our customers. Their extensive knowledge of the Thai market and successful track-record in working with major national and international companies will support us in delivering our services in the country.”
Derek Stamp, chief operating officer at JST added: “We are pleased to be collaborating with Sparrows as a trusted supplier for parts, equipment and services. Our established operations in Thailand will ensure we can provide a fast and competitive service to the market.
“With Sparrows’ expertise and experience we look forward to being able to provide an enhanced range of services to the energy and industrial markets.”
