A leading Aberdeen-based electrical company has announced a strategic alliance which will play a key role in developing its international product portfolio.
AEL is an international brand providing electrical products and services to the onshore, offshore, renewable, petrochemical, marine and industrial sectors. Its global capability to offer a broad range of electrical products and services has now be enhanced thanks to an agreement with Tyne & Wear-based Barrier-Ex to make AEL the exclusive worldwide distribution partner for their innovative range of lighting products built to IECEX and UL standards.
Part of the Barrier Group, Barrier-Ex is a supplier of hazardous area solutions specialising in hazardous area lighting equipment and explosion-proof enclosures. The company’s activities cover many sectors such as oil and gas, marine, petrochemical, water treatment, manufacturing and mining.
The move is expected to have a positive financial impact for both organisations, enabling Barrier-Ex to use AEL’s strategic international locations to hold stock in closer proximity to the marketplace, thus enabling faster, more efficient delivery to customers.
Commenting on the announcement, AEL Operations Director Mark Goonan said: “We are delighted to be working with Barrier-EX to deliver these products which offer exciting benefits in a new way which we are sure the market will be excited to receive.
“The synergies between our companies make us ideally suited to collaborating to achieve excellent results for our customers. We look forward to exploring all the opportunities which this partnership has created.”
Barrier Ex Managing Director Steven Lee said: “There was a lot of interest in our Quazr and Equinox products when we first exhibited them at Offshore Europe 2017. It was clear as soon as we began discussions with AEL that they were the ideal partner for us and we are really looking forward to an exciting time ahead working with Mark and his team”.
