David Lamont - CEO at ROVOP
Firstly, can I ask you about the mood in the camp here at ADIPEC this year?
One, of course, is optimism, people sense that the industry is regaining in strength, there is a lot of change, there is a lot of talk about new technology, the application of new technology, digitalisation. Overall, the mood is a very positive one.
In terms of what’s happening at ROVOP at the moment, both domestically and here in the Middle East? Can you give us a summary of that, please?
We’ve had a tremendous year domestically and internationally. We have been really growing out of our headquarters in Aberdeen, we3’ve moved here and made a conscious decision to move in the region about a year ago and been successful with a number of contract wins in the region. We’re moving people here and we’re actively recruiting in this region so, that’s positive. It also has a positive spin in Aberdeen where we are investing more in headquarters in terms of functions to support the global business.
Your base here is currently in Dubai is that correct?
Our base is in Dubai, our operations are very spread at the moment, we’re working in 4 countries in and around the region.
What can people expect from ROVOP over the next 3-5 years?
Id say ongoing growth, in terms of our geographic footprint. The application of some new and exciting technologies, a lot of focus on autonomy, a lot of focus on the quality and the processes of information. More of the same but really looking more at autonomy and proactive action in terms of Subsea interventions.
Would it be fair to say you’re embracing any of the new technology that has come onto the scene over the last few years?
We are always embracing new technology. Our specialisation and focus is on the application of new technology and really creating for our customers through that application.
