Job Summary

Our client is looking for a Treasury Accountant for a permanent position, located in Westhill.


Responsible for the monthly and rolling annual cash forecasting ensuring optimum use of funds by the group on a short and medium term basis. Variance analysis on cash forecasts as requested by Group Treasury in Paris. Monitoring and maintenance of all foreign exchange deals. Provide support for the daily Cash & Banking operations. Assist with Banking Administration.


  • Prepare long term cashflow for submission on Aberdeen managed entities to Corporate Treasury for future cash and debt planning.
  • Analyse variances and consolidate data for local entity with information received from internal departments.
  • Report on variances on consolidated data for UK entities as requested by Corporate Treasury.
  • Update the long term cashflow monthly with ‘actuals’. Analyse variances and consolidate data for local entity with information received from internal departments.
  • Management of foreign exchange hedging deals including the required entries in the Treasury Management tool (Diapason). Interact with finance project teams, maintaining the administration of the foreign exchange deal tracking spreadsheet and the reporting hedging movements in the accounting system recording the gain/loss result.
  • Maintain hedging effectiveness records.
  • Compilation of monthly reporting to Corporate Treasury (Cash & Debt report), including ongoing involvement with flows and reconciliation in Diapason.
  • Monthly analysis of bank accounts and exchange gain/loss accounts.
  • Assist with maintenance of internal control environment and ensure compliance with all key controls (SOX).
  • Transmit daily BACS files.
  • Perform administrator role for Authority Approvals Database.
  • Provide holiday cover within Treasury Department as appropriate.


Must have:

  • Previous treasury experience including cash forecasting
  • Basic Accounting knowledge
  • Proactive
  • Experience of working in strong control environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel user

Nice to have:

  • Full/Part Qualification in Accounting, Treasury or Banking
  • Experience of hedging of foreign currency
  • Sarbanes Oxley
  • Knowledge of Oracle
  • Knowledge of Hyperion
  • Knowledge of Diapason
